We’ve made a few chairs over the years, but this one feels special. Maybe it’s just timing, or maybe its the 7 different iterations we went through to dial it in, but we’re proud to offer these as a part of our collection. We set parameters for ourselves to keep this one simple, like using only right angles and no steam bending. By doing this it forced us to find subtle ways to dial in both comfort and proportion. Drawing on traditional techniques for the construction of this chair, we believe these chairs will stand the test of time, both functionally and aesthetically.

This specific chair was the seventh iteration we made during the design process. It is crafted from PA white oak with an oil finish, and the seat is hand woven shaker tape with a cushion inside for added comfort. For this version we kept the same chair frame and backrest as the 6th but tried a different seat material. The shaker tape seat added a level of comfort that feels just right for the chair and is another nod to the shaker movement a lot of our work is inspired by.

This one is also the final design. We’ll offer different seat options, but if you’re interested in these chairs, they will cost more after this sale so get at us!
